As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, IAESTE United States depends on program fees to offset the costs of administering programs. All interns must be paid. On the Offer of Training form, please state the salary, which should cover living expenses; most IAESTE interns are paid between $8 and $12 per hour.
If you have already identified an international student that you would like to bring to the US for training, we can assist with the required visa sponsorship. International students may be from any country with which the United States has diplomatic relations. IAESTE United States acts as the J-1 visa sponsor for the participant and his or her dependents and is authorized to issue the Certificate of Eligibility (DS2019), which is the document required to obtain a J-1 visa. IAESTE United States is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor science, engineering and architecture students. The Visa Authorization Service Application can be found on our Downloads Page.
